Resin sand casting is the mixing of raw sand and resin to form resin sand, which is then punched into the cavity of the mould.
The resin sand is then punched into the mould cavity and shaped by heating or catalyst, and then placed into the casting mould for casting.

What is the advantages of resin sand casting process?
1. High dimensional accuracy of the casting, clear external contours and a clean casting surface.
2. Elimination of the drying step, high production efficiency and shortened production cycle.

After burning of coating, the surface of the sand mold will become solid, very hard.Therefore, this furan resin sand process could be used to produce middle and large size of iron castings, from dozens of kilograms to dozens of tons. Max. 100 tons per piece is possible.Advantages of this casting process will be good surface quality, less casting defects, could be used to produce complex castings and good dimensional tolerance.
The disadvantages will be high production costs, so caused high casting prices, low production rate, so not suitable to produce small iron castings. Moreover, this casting process can not be used to produce steel castings, because of its poor gas permeability.
