Aluminum alloy Gravity casting for intake manifold
Aluminum alloy intake manifold is an important part of the engine, almost all factories use gravity casting to produce aluminum intake manifolds currently, including vertical pouring, flat pouring and tilt pouring. Due to our foundry has many years of experience in exhaust manifold production, our mold engineers suggest to use tilt pouring, which has better exhaust effect and stable filling pressure.
Most intake manifold materials are aluminum 380-T6 and Aluminum 356-T6,these materials have stable heat resistance and mechanical properties,it is a very important factor to affect the service life for intake manifold.
Most intake manifolds require leakage at 100 Kpa≤100 cm³/min,due to intake manifold always has the complex shapes and large curvature,It caused difficulty in positioning the sand core,Pattern making and increased the difficulty when casting. The key to the development of aluminum alloy intake pipe technology is how to determine the casting temperature field and mold temperature field, design a reasonable pouring system and process parameters, etc.
However,Dandong Iron Casting Group has extensive experience to deal with and solve these problems. Many customers like the very thin wall thickness when designing the intake manifold, even reach to 2-3 mm in some areas. But it is very difficult to making the wall thickness 2-3 mm when gravity casting, which will occur more than 40% of casting defects, such as shrinkage and sand holes. Our casting engineer suggest to ensure the wall thickness between 4 mm to 5 mm,in this way, our casting success rate can reach 98%.
Our foundry can design and scan the pattern step files according to customer's sample, making the molds, produce blank casting and machining in our own workshop,we can control the production schedule and delivery time according our order plan.
